Need your guys thoughts on buying this t5 setup

So someone is selling a 48” 6 bulb ati setup it’s in okay condition has bulbs and all bulbs work but obviously I will be purchasing new bulbs if I buy but the fan system on light does not work he said but it is a really cheap price and I’ve been wanting to switch to t5 setup what do y’all think should I buy it?

Do you know what kind of fan it uses? Is it like a PC fan? If so, shouldn't be too bad. I did not use any fans back when I used MH's or T5's. :)

I’m not sure but it looks like a little pc fan I’m just wondering if I should risk it and buy this I really want to switch over to t5

Is it only 1 fan that doesn't work or all of them? If it's all of them it might be a bigger issue.

Buy it... That’s a full T5 Powermodule. It uses better, true parabolic reflectors than the standard Sunpower and the body is a sturdy, heavy guage aluminum as opposed to the thin aluminum sheet of the Sunpower. Replacement fans can be purchased directly through ATI North America.

One question my wife doesn’t want me to mount the light to the ceiling... how would I go about mounting onto tank I have no canopy

Good deal, definitely buy it. You can buy brackets to screw into the wall and hang from the bracket.

You can use conduit pipe and bend with a pipe bender and mount it to your stand with clamps.

That's tough to say. My suggestion is rent a PAR meter and adjust accordingly. I'm in the process of building a reefer 350. I'm also going to t5 with 1 reefbrite. My plan is to start at 11 inches above water surface and adjust as necessary based on the PAR meter results.

Okay thank you, I have a 24 inch depth tank and currently run two ai prime hd and one kessil a360x tuna blue there just not enough for the bottom of tank

What are the dimensions of your tank? I have a 6 bulb 36” Sunpower over a 36 x 18x20 tank. I mount my fixture 10” from the waterline. The six bulb fixtures have 2 channels, one channel turns on 2 bulbs (slot 2 and 4) and the other channel turns on the other 4 bulbs.

I currently run an 11 hour light cycle with the 2 bulb channel running for the full 11 hours and the other 4 running for 9 hours. So in the morning, the 2 bulb channel turns on. An hour later, the 4 bulb channel turns on, so all 6 bulbs are now on. In the evening, nine hours later, the 4 bulb channel turns off. An hour later, the 2 bulb channel goes off completing the 11 hour light cycle.
