It hasn’t been closed up like this in the morning before. What’s wrong? Only change is Copepod population from the refugium have made it to the display and blooming. They have eaten all my algae on the glass!

It’s stressed. Some causes are:
Inadequate flow
Lights too bright
Feeding- do not direct feed
Pests
Hi nitrate and/or phosphate
Low calcium

How old is your tank? It looks pretty new. IME, which is limited, Gonis need mature, established tanks. What are your parameters and what kind of lighting? How long have you had the coral?

Mine does that if a hermit walks across. But they won't extend unless flow and water are correct.

Two weeks. Tank is 3 months old. There used to be some diatoms and film algae but since I added copepods a week ago they ate it all and the rocks and sand are sooo clean now.
Params are

ph8
Alk 8.5
Temp 24.8
Salinity 1.025
Calc and mag unsure, I do have test kits but I did a water change only a week ago.
Nitrates 3.2
Po4 0.02
I don’t spot feed. I satellite feed frozen shrimp and dose a tiny bit of phytoplankton in the sump every now and again
Flow is good; there’s two Sw-4 opposed on random flow and the return does 3000lph. Display is 120l. I haven’t changed the lighting.

You might try increasing phyto feeding. Other than the red ORA goni, others cannot thrive without feeding live or dead phyto.

Normal behavior, don’t sweat it. Some one bothered it over night.

it should come out during lights on. Mine does that every so often. :)

I’m going through something similar with mine. I think once I get my nutrients lowered and under control it should start acting better. Probably you too, plus feed as other have suggested. Just keep up with you r testing and WC’s and keep it alive. Don’t stress too much. These guys can be hard to please.
