You're only a part timer, but you're really good info for people that need to set up and take down tanks :snicker:

It could if I had another EB8, but for now I have everything on a backup battery and that has worked well considering the power doesn't go out often or for long. Just remember to make sure your internet and other routers are also on a battery backup. ;)


Yeah, it was interesting watching the topics being discussed. One thing I didn't see was whatever happened with the stuff stolen during the break in, did you get everything replaced? Hopefully no family pictures were lost. That would be the worst.

About the stuff, we just had a new alarm put in on Sat, our custom sized door (old house) is completed and it waiting for me to pick it up to be hung. The computers have been replaced (and upgraded) but I lost my adobe cs4 master collection and lightroom since I now have a macbook pro. My wife lost 90% of my pictures and I lost a lot of my raw images that for some reason were not on my external hard drive :(

WOW!!! You wasn't kidding about his tank. It is BEAUTIFUL. I just had to go look at it since you mentioned it. Glad you did. Now I have to go and read the thread from the begining.

Since I have not read your thread yet. I do not know where your sump is located. If its in the basement, than you will need another Energy Bar and a long USB cable. The Energy Bar max out to 15amp in total.

My energy bar is located in my stand so we are covered there.

In regards to a battery backup so the unit has power to send emails, is there a way to plug it into a vortech battery back up?

This download is a must!! Curt at Neptune gives great support but the book that comes with the unit is lacking in detail!! You will LOVE the APEx!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Neptune has a new beta version on their site for the Apex which looks pretty good.
