Does anyone know how to prevent the Neptune ATO from running dry. I guess my understanding of when I bought the product along with the full Neptune Apex unit was that it has an internal memory timer that will turn off by itself if it runs more than the average running time. However, my ATO pump has run dry twice and burned out. Maybe I’m wrong with my understanding of this. Has anyone had the same issues?

I know on my tunze there is a timer but it would start back up trying to fill the tank even if the top off was dry. To combat this I added a float valve to my top off and when my reservoir is low it turns off my ato and send me a text saying its empty then when I refill the tank it turns on my ato and starts pumping again.

No problems since.

Yeah that’s probably what I’ll do. I will get the OS water sensor form Neptune. Just sucks that it’s dried out twice

Neither has mine but doesn't mean it cant happen. Personally I have enough money invested and If I can spend a few buck on a sensor to keep my pump from breaking. I think it's a good investment.

I don't have the ATK but I think burning the pump out could be caused by the setup or pump orientation.
Something I do with ATO's is to set the pump up so that it cannot drain the container completely. I want it to suck air and cavitate the pump, before the pump runs out of water and runs dry. By doing this the pump ends up trying to pump air and water, but can't ever run dry.
You could try laying the PMUP on it's side, so the pump opening will suck air before the water is totally gone.

i've used the atk with the full apex integration (fmm), use an extra sensor at the bottom of your ato reservoir, if the sensor is triggered set the atk to turn off

i actually had nothing but trouble with the atk itself so went back to the osmolator, i still use the fmm for various sensors, one of which is still the low ato res sensor which turn the power of my tunze off
