I tend to be quite literal.

No worry. I just wanted to make sure you know I'm not belly aching or complaining about something you did or your results. Life is too short.

Hope your day is going well.

For any Sky owners that do not own a canopy my light spill shades are available for sale. You can find it under the classified section. I am offering a 3" top to bottom model currently which is similar to the Radion shade. I could make a 3.5" Sky light spill shade at maximum. The production model has a larger footprint than the original design and my 3D printer does have its limits. Happy reefing!
Do you still male these? I have two sky lights that I need canopies for.

My lights are mounted to my canopy which is hard to get down. Do you all clean the diffuser on a regular basis?

I do not have a regular interval but I do clean then when I notice it. Basically I do not let it get thick or a layer that can block.

Can I get some photos of sps grown with this light?
Been a few years, has everybody stuck with them? Looking for honest feedback

I have had 1 laying around I really never used that I’ve been debating putting in between 2 hydra edge 44 (over 150gl mixed) I’ve been wanting to add an xr15 but if I can save money why not 🤷‍♂️

If you have one, why not use it?

To your question though I am still running the pair I received as part of the Neptune NSI testing. So pre-retail and they are still running perfectly fine. A lot of the so-called drama by hobbyist has proved to be false such as the SKY casing, longevity, fans, and noise. This is a video I threw together the other day to show someone the Tunze ORCA so not high quality or cleaned front panel.

Tank is 210 gallons, 54 x 30 x 30, mixed reef. 2 SKY's and all of the corals are from frags. I have various sized colonies of Acropora. Personal opinion is that PAR is just a number driven by marketing and social media. It is one part of many in keeping a successful tank. I am guessing if I was still running my Kessil's I would have similar sized colonies is my point.

FYI - I run a parabola light schedule and the SKY's peak at 85%.

My thoughts exactly 😁
Your tank looks great! No doubt they are growing your acro!
I have a large enough aquarium to use the light and it had a wider spectrum then the ai blade (which is a great light)
I think I’ll build a canopy and raise the Sky and both edges higher up and go for it.
Thanks

Well done - tank looks great.

Sort of a bummer that the kits got so much hate upon launch yet here they are still performing well. I wished Neptune released them at a lower price point. I bet if they started in the 600 - 650 range they would have done very well. That seems to be the general thought by the non haters.

They are great lights. I actually run 18 of them on my farm. I’d pick skys over radions any day. I know I grow more coral than anyone I know with radions. But then again I also run 19 of the $89 cad wills black box LEDs and they grow coral just great for me too lol

Can I ask your thoughts on why? Spread, power? (I’m glad to hear because I own a sky)

I’m coming from hydra 26hd which are great lights but I feel the lack of spread is intense or narrow angle is harsh on corals high in my tank.

This go I’m buying all wide angle lights, I’m going to replace the ai blade for the sky with a hydra 44 edge on each side which will cover my tank pretty well. Just need to block the spill light, wife is not having it 😂

I just watch my coral honestly. And trust me I grow coral like crazy. I filled so many tanks starting with this one from just Frags three years ago not only that I’ve supplied my local area for probably 100 mile radius. I currently have 18 of them running and 19 of the Chinese black box in every tank. They are over is absolutely stuffed and I run the same settings on all of them.

Well, one of the biggest reasons was how I hate Mobius I had Jen five XR 30 and XR fifteens and I don’t know how many times I woke up in the middle of the night with one of them on full blast you had to be right in the same room to control them or change them and I just found they didn’t grow coral as good as the Neptune sky honestly. I’ve grown thousands and thousands of heads of torches and hammers and Zoa. And I’ve grown all of the acro I have from little tiny knubs. I honestly can’t keep up with chopping. I’ll bet right now on my farm. I have probably 5 to 6000 heads of torches and close to that many heads of hammer and hundreds of colonies of Zoa and stuff like that and huge colonies of acro I’m not saying I couldn’t do the same with radions but I know there’s a few shops that run radions and they don’t have even close to the same amount of growth that I get
