Quick question. I am assuming the the Trident and DOS work in perfect harmony? I.e. the Trident gives you the reading and talks to the DOS to bring levels are to what you want? My DOS. Is at home and I ordered it just assuming this is how it would work.

Yes thats exactly how they are suppose to work. Word of caution though, let thew trident just test your tank for a while so you get a baseline reading, then let the trident take over.

While I do not own a trident, this is what I've read from the users on here.

No. You will manually adjust the amount to dos in order to get it to what you want. There is no set it and forget it

They call it Trident Controlled Dosing. It's still up to you to set a baseline amount to DOS first, then the Trident will adjust it up or down from your normal amount based on test readings. It has been keeping my alkalinity swing around 0.10 dKH per day

See my Trident Hands On thread where I posted a lot of screenshots and results.

Actually, once it's dialed in it can be very stable without needing adjustment. I haven't had to change anything for nearly 6 months now.

Ok thanks all. Yes I will let it run for a few days. But everything is looking good. I was actually surprised how low my DKH was. 7.2 calcium at 430 and mag at 1325.

Just wanted to pass on...as I've been dialing in my Trident over my first month. I'm now near the end of my first reagent batch and wanted to share my results, as of today. Although I have 2 DOS and am ready to supplement Magnesium, I haven't needed to yet. Its turned off. I'd say that's pretty stable. ;)
