So I picked up a couple of nerite snails since my lfs was out of smaller turbos. One of the nerite is dropping eggs like there is no tomorrow.

I’ve read conflicting info if they will hatch and survive. I need some advice if these guys will hatch because I really do not want 100’s of these in the tank.

Thanks, John

Have similar question salinity is 1.020. know they breed in brackish and that larva will die if they can't get to saltwater environment. Any chance these guys will hatch? Would love some extra snails.

I have noticed it taking around 2 weeks to hatch. If they bother you just run a cleaning magnet over them and they fall right off, does not scratch glass. I love having reproducing snails in my tank.

To Halal hotdog. So they do hatch in your tank and survive at nsw salinity ranges? Would really like that. Never used nerites in my saltwater set ups always used turbine snails serith snails. Love them in freshwater because the larva die and don't eat all my plants but would really like them to breed in my saltwater tanks. Might be my favorite snail yet again.

I have a few species of snails in my tank, and I believe two of them are laying eggs. I cannot tell the difference between the different egg sacs. I only pay attention to them in my sump because there are no predators in there, and the flow rate is slow enough to not disturb anything. At around two weeks the sacs tend to yield a tiny baby snail and leave a little white ring. I know for a fact that one of the species laying eggs are my trochus snails, but unsure what the second one is.
