I'm doing a deep clean in my sump and equipment. I'm soaking with vinegar since I'm out of citric acid. Does anyone neutralize vinegar with baking soda in the rinsing process? Or is this overkill?

Also, what's your preferred method of cleaning siphon hoses, basters and such?

I usually just rinse them with water, although I dose vinegar into the tank so I doubt a small amount left on equipment would matter anyway.

don't soak it in vinegar, use the vinegar for a quick scrubbing then rinse it off. Vinegar dries and breaks the rubber parts, letting it soak in vinegar will end your machines life quicker.
