Fresh vs. salt.
Fresh always seemed easier and quicker but salt is the end game. At least it’s what I’d love to get into. Cooler fish, nicer setups.

The problem... starting.

Where do you start when you’ve never done salt before?

I’d start by looking online for good deals on used equipment or a tank somebody is selling cheap. Watch lots of videos on YouTube, deciding what size tank you want can be a tough choice. Dustin

Watch the BRS videos on YouTube, especially the BRS 160 vids, that will give you a good idea of what it entails. Just fyi, I love my 100 gallon reef, it was my first saltwater tank after many years of freshwater but Ive probably spent twice as much as I thought I would. Its very expensive!

Start with research! There are quite a few great guides on this site for first time set ups which should be of great help. Also, don't hesitate to ask the R2R community questions as they pop up.

I would say you have already started off on the right track. You came here to ask questions before you actually started. Good for you! This is a great place with lots of knowledgeable people that are willing to help you.
