One of my senior students brought in a new 10 gallon tank and some substrate... he wants us to set up a nano reef or maybe a frag tank... not sure if we need a skimmer? Or what is best any 10 gallon set ups that can offer ideas?

Hello James. I'm not sure what the experianced reefers would say, but I don't think I would mess with one. You water changes on something that small should be fine.

I wouldn't even set it up because the school year is about to end, unless you have access to the school during the summer and don't mind coming in during your time off.

No skimmer, with the tank that small and what looks to be a good sized HOB filter, I would just do water changes when needed. Like those lights, btw

Ok we took the plunge we built Frag racks, put a Fluval Aqua Clear 20 on the side a small heater 50w and the small 450gph power head we had here for mixing salt. So what’s the best way to cycle this tank done it will be a frag tank? Do I ghost feed just like to Biocube? What do you suggest
