Hello wanted to share my tank build with you guys at R2R!

I've been without a display tank for a couple of years only keeping my livestock in a frag tank at my office since we recently moved homes.

We bought an older house as is and it needed a ton of work so the home tank has taken a while to get going but I am almost ready for water.

The new house didn't have a suitable room for the tank that me and my wife could agree upon so I had to make a room! I converted the screened porch to a sunroom.

One of the good things about using this room for the tank is it had a floor drain and air vents already installed by the previous owner. We had new tile put down and had it sheetrocked everything else I did myself. My wife even found some cool reef chairs!

The tank was delivered a few week ago almost done with the plumbing just needs to be glued. I also had some extra PVC slatwall left over from a garage project and figured it would be nice to use to protect the wall from water and hang things from.

The tank was made by glass cages. It is 48 x 30 x 20 with 3/4 starphire glass. Ghost overflow and a trigger sump. I need an ATO container but with the sink I will be able to have my rodi under the stand.

That's about all I have for now. Working on the rocks and then it will be time to fill it!

So I think I have my rocks complete. I wanted two islands so I accomplished that. The one on the left is a little shorter than planned but that's ok. Good thing is they are both easy to pick up and move if I need to add another island later on. Sun wasn't cooperating before I left to take kids to practice.

I really like that. Somehow I seem to be incapable of minimalism with aquascaping. You show great restraint!
Yea me too. My thinking is more rocks more real estate to place corals. Just gonna be a little pickier this time. I can see me adding another island at some point unless everything fills in like I hope it does.

Awesome build. I love the lengths everyone here goes to in order to keep a reef. Your sun room will be a great place to relax.

Thank you! Isn't that the truth? Reefing is an addiction!

This is just awesome! Looking forward to seeing things progress. I'm thinking of setting up a new 93 cube so I'm watching for inspiration [emoji6]
