Hey y’all this new 150 will be going in our office. I did a build thread on my 60 cube that was a lot of fun. It’s been running a few years now, and now that I’m able to keep SPS pretty confidently decided to step my game up. So here is what I know I’ll be running as of now, need some help/ insight on a few other things that I have not yet purchased.

TANK: 60x24x24 Fiji Cube starphirre with external overflow it should be arriving tomorrow.

LIGHTING: 3 radion XR 30 G5 blue

FLOW: MP 40’s for sure. I also have gyres and RC RP-M’s

SUMP: Bashsea 36x18x16 Biofuge series matching 10 gal RO reservoir. I went with this sump to set up the gen 3 SK-5000 roller mat. I don’t actually run a refugium I’ve been relying on oversized skimming and bacteria to remove nutrients.

A few other things I have now are the Helio 700w PTC heater. And full automation from my 60 gal that I’ll be shutting down Apex, DOS, Trident.

SKIMMER: ? This is where I’m undecided. Looking at the Bashsea twisted series skimmers or NYOS 220. Other possible would be the Maxspect Aeraqua duo. Maybe Aquamaxx Q2/Q3. any experience with these or insight would be greatly appreciated.

I also already have an RO system that I’ll be reconfiguring when I build my WC station. Also could use some good ideas in this area.

Hope to see some input and have some good conversation.

I have the Nyos Quantum 160 on my 200-gallon but should've gone with the 220 - so that would be the one I'd endorse. Great skimmers.
Question for you. How finicky is it with water level? My concern is water level fluctuations in the sump because of the rollermat. Which why my interest with the Bashsea. Water level wouldn’t matter. Downside is having to run another pump

Tank arrived! I didn’t see any problems at first glance. I’ll fully unbox it later and give it a good inspection. Looks great

Well sump showed up today. Wasn’t expecting it for another week or so. Waiting on the RO container and still need to make up my mind on a skimmer. Here’s a few pics of the sump

I don’t know if any of y’all use this heater but it may very well be one of the best packaged items I’ve ever bought. Lol

Looking good - did you also get the matching stand? Interested in how they compare to say a Red Sea stand

I looked at them and they seem to be on par with the Red Sea stands that I’ve looked at. Nothing too fancy. Just a solid stand. I did not order the stand, I build my own to suit exactly what I need at the moment, I also like my stands taller. And I hate trying to modify pre fab stands.

Looking great. Very well thought out. I agree on the taller stand. I sold my previous RedSea Reefer when I moved instead of bringing it with me. I was looking down into the tank. Its nice to see the tank while looking straight on.

Yeah for sure, I’m not the tallest guy but at 6’3” my back appreciates the extra height over a pre fab stand.

Well I know in my first post I said I’d be moving my apex, dos, and trident, but I’m a liar. I went with the GHL Profilux and the KH director for this tank. I’ll leave my apex on its current tank that my wife now wants to use as a freshwater setup. And probably sell my dos and trident after I shut down my current tank.

Ok well, finally had a little time today to start on the stand it’s still got a way to go but the basic layout is there the right side will be fully closed in and house all the electronics and controllers.

Had a little more time with it today, got the bottom rubber coated, added some bracing, boxed in my electronics section, and got the doors made. Started on some of the trim. Still need to make the removable side panels, finish the trim, finish the electronics area, a lot of sanding and then get her painted.
