Been working on it a little every evening. This is where I’m at now. Side panels are done they’re held in place by magnets, both are removable and will make access to the sump and roller a breeze, and also to the back side of the electronics, I’ll also use that bottom area to hold the dosing container, reagent for the Kh director, and probably a reactor for carbon should I feel it necessary to run. Now I’ll take it outside this weekend for a sanding and then paint. Getting close!

Playing around with some aquascape ideas to kill a little time before I move the stand out to sand and paint this weekend. 1/3 of the tank will be the rock structure from my current tank. Just got to figure out the rest

I’ve quit playing with rocks for now and have been working on the stand a little every night. Control board is pretty much a wrap, I’ve got it painted, and lighting installed in the stand. Finally time to start moving on!

You going to do anything to protect the wood floors? My tank had some nasty salt creep on them after only 4 months… just something to think about.

I’m not too concerned with it, most everything will be inside of the stand, with the exception of the external overflow. I’ve got two other tanks in different areas of the house sitting on these same floors with little issue. Maybe I’ve just gotten lucky! Thanks for checking out my post, hopefully starting on some cool stuff pretty soon. Definitely going slower than I wanted.

Slow is good for this hobby. It’s an awesome build! I get it because it gets expensive. Just be patient and it’s will come together and be bomb!
You got this I’m following!

Couldn’t agree more, several times I’ve rushed through things and then kicked my self later for it

Got the most the controllers mounted, my brother came over and helped me set the tank in place, I’ll start running some of the wiring, and start plumbing it up this week, hopefully have it wet this weekend!

It’s slow, but I’m still working on it. Plumbing is almost done, getting ready to start running all the cords and attach power bars this evening

Plumbing is done! Installed the track for the lights and hung the two new radions. I’ll put my third one in the center when I get my other tank shutdown. Most of the wiring is run, it’s a little messier than I wanted but none of its visible with the side cover on. All in all I’m pretty happy with the progress so far. This is where the tank is now

Following along.
Looks great. I was giggling scrolling through seeing you say "I’ve quit playing with rocks for now and have been working on the stand a little every night." That was me a few months ago!!! So much has changed over the years and I became partial to NSA. Break, crumble, glue, dust, glue, dust lol. So on and so forth.

I come from a time when it was only live rock that we stacked like a wall, Protein skimmers had wooden air stones, metal halides were the thing to save for, then the fans to cool them lol.

Best wishes to you, I'm excited to be back and see this which gives me great inspiration!
Thank you

Added some ammonia to the tank Monday. Dosed it to 2 ppm and have been adding microbacter7 everyday. It’s at 1 ppm today once it drops a little more I’ll re dose ammonia and continue with the microbacter and add some one and only also until it reads 0. I’ll probably move some rock from my current tank at that point and continue running test until everything looks good. Then it’ll be time to swap some stuff around!
