I just got a innovative marine 170G EXT.

I will be tracking the progress here but I would also to use this as feedback for what equipment to use as well.

I have the tank and sump so far.
IM did not send my pump so I am working to get that sent over.

With new year deals on the loom - I want to get lighting out of the way to take advantage. What do you think is the best option?

Tank setup ready to be plumbed!

Awesome. I run noopsyche and t5 over my 150, but if i had the budget id love to get kessils, love the way they look. What are your plans for coral and fish?

So corals just softies and LPS not that big of a SPS personally so I don’t have to go so overkill with lights

Fish wise still going over it but so far for sure doing
Yellow tang -> transferring from my 65g since it’s outgrowing the tank
Darwin clowns that were my first saltwater fish

Still thinking of what else to add lol

Hard to beat wrasses. Triggers are awesome too, just ordered a blue jaw for my tank.
Im loving the even spread if my T5 lighting. And the noopsyches are a pretty great bang for your buck. Unfortunately the app is a pain.

Nice lookin rig you got there. I had Kessils over my first tank and it looked amazing. Best shimmer of any light imo.

Following along! What are your future plans for your tank?

I was inspired by a local reefer who has a big LPS tank with two big cliff looking structures with tons of torches / hammers / frogspawns and some Scoly/chalices on the sand bed that I fell in love with and would not mind trying to replicate my own version
