new acro id and placement

acro placement and identification?
picked up this green and purplish acro and I need help with the name and placement because I don’t want to bleach it but I want to give it adequate light

right now it’s in the back middle/right of my tank about 6 inches under the waterline and my ai prime is 9 inches above that

and the values for the ai prime are maxed in the middle and blues at 100 on the sides

Personally I'd leave it where it is and monitor it, being ready to either lower the light settings or lower the coral if you see bleaching starting. I don't think the single prime fixture will be able to bleach an acro if the other parameters are OK, based on the PAR values AI publishes for it.

Looks to me like a tort. Hard to tell under the blues, but seems too green to be a Cali tort.

yea, I either thought it was a Cali Tort or a Madman Austera, any tips for caring for those?

Just the general SPS water parameters, a lot of light and flow, measurable nutrients, a steady, mature biome.

Simple in concept really; just hard to keep it all consistent ALL THE TIME.

Easiest thing to do to set your mind at ease is to rent a PAR meter from BRS and check your values. The coral is probably one of the may A. austera varieties (Miyagi "tort" or Cali "tort" would be my bet). They're fairly indestructible as Acropora go.
