I fought the good fight with GHA and won. I also discovered I was bottomed out with Nitrate and Phosphate. I'm dosing Phosphate and Nitrate now so I can hold .05ppm Phosphate and 3ppm Nitrate. It was amazing to see my coral perk right up. Anyway that's another thread for another day. Now I have the dark green/brown algae growing on the glass. I need to be scraped with a razor blade every three days or so. I do run a UV. I don't think I can get any picture of it. Has anybody run into this?

Normal. Especially if you let it build up too long. That's why we use razors!

I have three tanks running and have to clean the glass every other day and should clean it daily and do at times. The only way I have found to stop it is run with no lights :winking-face:
EDIT : my tanks run at varying nutrient levels from barely detectable to 15 NO3 and 0.6 PO4 and the glass needs to be cleaned the same on all.

Wow! This tank is about 2 1/2 now and the only scraping for me was coraline. The brown usually came right off.

Just a different type of algae, but not abnormal at all.
