Another Michigan Zoa addict here, most of you already know me as Dragonladylea. I have had fishtanks of once kind or another for over 20 years, started off breeding show guppies (not kidding) then eventually got into breeding Dafodil Brichardi Cichlids which I traded for store credit to startup my first saltwater tank. Have always loved Zoanthids - remind me of one of my other passions my flower garden - Hence the name change. Currently have a 35 gal hex, and a 5 gal nano. Upgrading to a 55 gal on Thurs. Can't wait more garden to plant!!

Oh cool!

I didn't know this was you- IMO, you had the COOLEST avatar!! Never seen one like that that looked so elegant.

Welcome! And if you need a few seed zoas for the new tank, LMK! Maybe you'll get a freebie Thermos in the mail...
:D

Laurie,

Well... I stubbled across the welcome page... Sorry it took so long to find but I will now introduce myself.

My Name is Mike and am from the World Headquarters for the study of Zoas and Palys..
(Michigan). I have been a Reefing for over 12 years. My pasion for the hobby is with Palys, Zoas, and Rics for the past 5 years. I have a 90 gallon, 50 gallon prop system and I am soon to be setting up a Custom 135 gallon system in my office. I am an Automotive Trouble shooter for one of the Big 3. I am always looking for the newest morphs in Zoas and Palys just as most of you all are. I enjoy going to Frag swaps and NFL Football....

Cant wait to get into the next Thermos swap... :)

HI,

My name is Chad and I am from WI.

I have a 75 gal mixed reef with a 30 gal off to the side tied into 1 system. And am currently in the process of getting a 120 sps tank going and making the 75 gal a lps/softie tank.

I have been looking for some PPE's that are not expensive so if you have some for sale shoot me a pm.

Thanks,
Chad

Hi

Hello, my name is Scott and have been reefing for a few years now. Seems I am looking at Zoas now more than any other corals. We have a 135, 55, and a 38. All are reefs I will post a few pics. Many of you have probably seen these already at that other site but for those who haven't

Hello all !!

My name is Duane (Pronounced Dwayne NOT DU-WAN. ;) formerly FragFarmer from the old board)
And I'm a coral addict.

I think Zepplin, and Azurel are the only ones here that have been in the hobby longer than I have LOL!!!
GOD I FEAL OLD !!! ( but your still older than me Larry LOL!!)

I guess I have been reef keeping for around 13-14 years and into salt water in general for the last 18-19 or so years.
Larry I can totaly relate to how things have changed. The plenum was big wen I started too LOL!
Thats what they called under gravel filters for marine tanks back then LOL! and they slapped a $200.00 price tag on them LOL!!

and OMG the cost of a weet dry was astronomical !!

I'm 36 and I am from Cincinnati Ohio, (murder capitol of the world. REALY SUCKS HERE NOW!)

I breed Erectus, and dwarf seahorses, as well as propogate coral.
This hobby never stops amazing me.
I can walk by any one of my tanks on any given day and see somthing totaly new to me.
Somthing new is always popping up.

The people in this hobby as a whole are some of the best people I have ever met! Especialy on this board.

You guys who are new to this crowd will not be disapointed what so ever!

BTW Nice tanks Scott ! :)

hi all
we (dawn and I) have been reefing for about 14 years now. my two main tanks are a 125 mixed garden reef and a DIY 22 gal nano SPS and zoa tank.
although i've made a lot of changes in my 125 over the last two years (more zoas and SPS) the oldest coral in my tank is a green mushroom that is the first one i ever bought - kinda cool
great sight - love to browse through all the pics of beautiful zoas i know i'll never own :)

hi guys, have been watching this forum for a short while now, and you all seem pretty cool and friendly, so i thought i'd introduce myself. i'm from middlesbrough, england. i'm a mental health nurse, and have been into reefkeeping for about 8 years. i currently run an aqua medic percula 90 set up. my main inhabitants are a breeding pair of clowns (1 tomato and 1 cinnamon) in their sabae nem. purple tang and neon goby, plus clean up crew. am intending on more fish in the future but want to concentrate on zoo for the moment.

attempting to include pic of my tank!!

I have been around Club-Zoa for a little while (7-8-2006), have traded with a lot of you, and really enjoyed my time here. I don't think I have ever gotten around to really introducing myself or my tank, and telling you a little bit about myself...so here goes!

My name is Steve (Stixbaraca is just my **** name...long story) I turn 30 years old the end of this December. I live about 30 minutes northwest of Philadelphia in an area called Spring Mount. I am engaged to be married in June, and have 2 toy poodles (Lucky & Ellie...brother and sister from the same litter)

I got into saltwater reef keeping on a whim back in June of 2003. That's not to say I jumped in head first though. I joined RC, and read as many books as possible to try and make sensible choices in my first tank which was a 45 gallon tank. I currently have a 58 gallon Oceanic Shaker combo with a custom hood (brand spanking new) that has two 175W Ushio 10K bulbs powered by ARO electronic ballasts. Also in there is a 96W actinic PC bulb, and soon to be 3 1W LED night lights. I also run an Aquafuge, and a AquaC Remora skimmer. My tank isn't drilled, and I utilize a lot of power heads, until I can set up some sort of closed loop in the near future. The majority of my corals are zoos of course, with a couple softies, and lps thrown in. Here is a full tank and stand shot!
