Howdy folks! I picked up my first nem 4 days ago and I was wondering what you guys thought.. does it look happy and healthy? They told me it was a rose bubble tip - does seem correct?

When I first got him I placed him on a rock and overnight he moved about 6 inches and attached his foot in a rock crevice, which is a shaded spot. It's stayed in that spot ever since. Sometimes it goes all the way up into that crevice and I can hardly see it. Lol

Thoughts?

I guess I should mention that pictures done show the real color. It looks green toward the base and orange/pink on the tips.

It sure looks like a rose.
As far as if it's happy - it doesn't look UNhappy. Lol.

Give it a few days - even week- for it to find a spot it likes. It will go in and out all day till it's settled. After which it will contract mostly at night.

I wouldn't worry too much at this point.... best of luck.

Some new pics of the nem. It has definitely grown in size a bit since I first got him and he hasn't moved around much. He seems to like the spot I placed him in and occasionally he backs into the hole in the rock where his foot is... sometimes I can't even see it, it's so far back there. [emoji23]

My question is... is this guy really a rose bubble tip? In every different light setting he looks orange at the tips and green at the base... I really haven't seen any pink or red color at all.

What do you guys think? Does he still look happy?

Sorry about the first pic! My cleaner shrimp wanted to get his butt in the picture. [emoji23]

Hahah. Maybe. My cleaner obviously is not! [emoji23]

He seems to be a little less shy then when I first added him. How long does it usually take for them to grow some courage? I just wanna make sure I'm not doing anything wrong and that I'm taking care of him correctly.

Your tank is also fairly new, it could take a couple of weeks , but he will come around ,have you fed him ? I feed mine once a week with frozen muscles ,so long as your tank parameters are good and he gets enough flow , he will be fine

Thanks for the reply! [emoji16]
I have fed him 2 or 3 times. Once I fed him a very small piece of a silverside and the other 2 times I gave him a squirt of mysis. All times he seemed to accept the food fairly well.

I just don't think he's a rose. I don't really care to be honest... I'm just curious as to what his real colors are.. guess I'll just have to wait. [emoji3]
