May I suggest using test flight to test apps rather than charging for them.

The add and photos in the app description are very misleading and and easily manipulated to make it appear that it works better than it actually does.

@saltyfilmfolks Super appreciate the feedback. I have a new version in the works that boosts the blue removal big time. I'd love to get you on the beta testing squad if interested! Link on the website (http://aquariumcameraapp.com). <-- thru testflight yes. The reason I thought the app was good to go is because it was solving for perceptual differences in the shot vs what the camera took, vs full on blue removal which is what I'm aiming to do now. Everyone I tested it with prior had good results with that use case so it was completely off my radar.
@tupes As soon as the kinks are worked out with iOS, Android is coming. I think this next version should do the trick so looking at probably early November for Android release if all goes well.

The App is SO much better for taking photos using my iPhone. The photos tend a little blurry but the color correctness is much better

I can't get the video to work. When I push the button that looks like it is there to toggle between camera and video it closes to app. What's up with that??

With regards to color correction there is not enough of it from blue LEDs. I ran 14k Phoenix MH 250W and Reef Brite XHO strips. As long as the XHO are on my cameras can't handle it. Turning off the LEDs I can get decent pictures with and without the app. Picture correction in Photos on Mac is better.

I am with Saltyfilm, I think it was too soon to charge for this app.

Hey @Tapio, that doesn't sound right. So the app is crashing for you when you swap between video/camera? Let's get you into the Beta test group so I can check out your crash logs and try to diagnose the problem. A lot of forum members have been testing for a couple weeks or so: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/need-more-testers-for-aquarium-camera-app-ver-2-0.330462/ and I'm not seeing any crashes on those logs (there's over 200 members), but I'll check the iTunes logs. I should see something if you accepted the permissions to send crash logs to develoeprs when you setup your phone. Regardless, I'd LOVE to figure out what's going on so I can fix it.

For the blue light, it'd be great to see your settings and the results you were getting on your photos. Thanks for your light info. Could you also take a screenshot with your device (home button + on/off switch)? Maybe I can help advice on the RGB channels.

Thanks for the feedback. I can assure you your results are not common and that's why I'm charging but as you can probably guess, the more people who use any given app the more possibility of finding bugs. Could be your device + operating system, could be the device was low on memory from another memory leaky app, or could be something you've uncovered in an operational sequence that I missed in memory manage. In any case, let's get it fixed up!

Thanks for the response. It looks like you really want to fix these problems. I appreciate that. I will check into the beta test tomorrow and I will get back to you.

How long until the Android version is out?
Looking more like very beginning of December but I'll keep you guys posted.
I pushed it back just a bit because I'm trying to finish up the new iOS version which, if it works well I'm going to roll with for the Android. It has a bigger automatic feature that I think is going to be key.

I would definitely love this for Android as well...

Great app! It is real time so you can see before you take the picture, that you have the perfect shot!

I couldn’t find a preset, which would be nice if there is one. You have to dial it in yourself but it’s pretty easy, just try and match what’s on the camera vs what you see in real life obviously lol. Fully customizable! Great app!

Thanks so much for posting the pics! They turned out great. Version 3 won't have so much as presets, but will have the ability to return back to auto and there's a new gel mode that does an additional layer of color enhancement (simulates a gel over your lens).

I'd love to know what lights you have on your tank and any objections to using these shots on the website or app store?

Thanks so much, again!

No objections, feel free to use these! Looking forward to new features, sounds great!

Edit: the lights I use are 8x54w Dimmable Sunpower and (1) Reefbrite TECH LED Actinic blue strip.

In these pictures, I used the worst lights for taking pictures to really test the app. I was running 2 ATI ACTINIC BLUE and the Reefbrite strip. Pics always look horrible with this lighting but it’s the most pleasing to the eye. Best of both worlds with your app.

Wicked, thanks for that additional info!
Love the rock you have in that tank. What is that?

I will purchase as soon as Android version comes out! I take so many pictures with my phone because it is quick and available. Awesome idea and thanks for doing this for the hobby
