Hi everyone, I currently have a 90g AIO peninsula mixed reef tank (though I am not using it as a peninsula currently.) I have to move to a new apartment pretty soon and I decided that I was unhappy with my current aquascape.

My tank has been up and thriving for just about three years. The current aquascape I have is roughly 50-55lbs of rock on the back wall. But with the need of me having to breakdown transport and set my tank back up I’ve realized it is the perfect time to redo my aquascape. So I went out and bought 67lbs of dry reef rock and went to work. Here’s what I came up with:

Please let me know any questions thoughts comments and concerns you may have with the new aquascape I put together. My goal was to actually use the peninsula at my new place, and also create a lot of new sandbed real estate than what I currently have. If you have any ideas on adjustments or improvements please let me know!

I'm not a big fan of the 'one large arch' look (in your case, two), but it's definitely personal preference. 😉
Also, if you are trying to provide fish places to feel safe, the space underneath the largest arch (especially) is essentially just more open water. Just my 2-cents. No real right-or-wrong. 👍

It looks fantastic but with scapes like this I always wonder where the fish will sleep or where they go if they want a time out.

To address everyone else’s concerns about hiding places for the fish. Both “columns” supporting the arches have at least 2 cave areas in which fish and inverts can enter to hide.

Just throwing this out there because I think often people fail to realize how important suitable habitat for fish is to their well being. . Every fish needs its own place to feel safe. 2 caves is fine unless you have have more than 2 fish that need a place. I have 25 fish in one of my tanks and at night every single fish has its own spot to hide in. Even my 8 chromis each has their own spot. Here's one in my blue ridge as an example of how fish like to hide to feel secure. No place to feel safe and secure causes stress and stress can cause all kinds of problems even death. My hippo doesn't even like a cave but prefers to wedge itself under rocks similar to triggers.

Not much room for fish to hide/sleep. It's ok if you are only going to have a few fish.
Scapes are personel so go with what you like. I have 11 fish in my 150, 60×30×21. Rock is only placed on the glass with many hiding places and plenty of room for coral. Once grown in, in another year or so, system is 2, it will be filled with coral and the scape will take on a look of its own.
Sometimes its hard to envision what your system will look like once its grown in.

Looks nice aesthetically. But like others I have concerns about the fish and hidey holes/caves. I see one on the left that looks kinda adequate but the right hand side not so much. Like I said I think it looks nice and will show off corals nice but fish need deeper holes IMHO.

If your second picture in the original post is a viewing angle, I’d thinking about rotating the smaller arch so you can see through it from that angle. It may help and give fish a different flow of maybe faster current through the arch. Peninsula tanks are hard designs because of having 3 viewing sides. I’m currently in the process of designing my peninsula tank aquascape.
