New BRS AI Prime 16 HD Settings

Has anyone tried the new BRS settings for their AI Prime 16 HD?

Any thoughts? I respaced mine as a result of the video. I am a little disappointed that they wanted 3 Primes over a 36" tank for SPS as I have a IM30L, which while not a typical 40 gallon breeder still has the 36" footprint. I currently only have 2 Primes and hope that I can get some good SPS growth without upgrading to 3. When I set up the recommended settings my fans kicked on a lot more. Anyone have similar experiences?

They are in the video. A little different depending on your tank.

@Adamantium BRS did a review on the AI 16 Primes. Here's the link to the video. BRS gives the settings at the end of the video.

Sorry, I meant a .AIP file. Makes it soooo much easier.

Edit: Oh, are they not doing ramping like AB+ schedules? Is this just an on/off kind of setting?

@Adamantium Yes it is on and off, but you could set your ramp time and make it whatever you want. If you watch the video, it will be more specific to your tank size.

I have prime 16HD on IM Nuvo 10. Everything from Acans on bottom, Zoas at all levels, Birdsnest,Stylo,Monticap 3/4 down and Anacropora and acropora about 3 inches down from surface off to the sides. Prime mounted 9 inches above surface of water. 12 hour cycle with 3 hour ramp at both ends. Everything is growing very well. Present settings
UV-90%
Violet-95%
Both blues- 80%
No green
Red-5
White-15%
This all adds up to 30 watts (a little over 3 watts per gallon as the tank only holds about 8 filled to the brim so I've got only about 7.5 gallons in it).
There is no way I'd use the amount of white BRS is using. But that just me.

I got 3 on my 36” and using these settings since October and have been rocking some good growth both sps and lps. They recommend 13 inch height but I have been using 10 inches but the two lights on the sides are a slight bit turned in

I tried it too and it was way white for me. I would have an algae fest with those whites

Do you think I could just turn down the cw channel to my preference and not lose anything that would be detrimental to coral?

Hey thanks! If you look at the top picture it is on my highest point and you can see the percentage of all the channels and I just messed with the blue at the end. Hour and half ramp time, comes on at 11:30 and goes to 11:30. I did drop my white spike down for no real reason

I have the exact same tank and just switched over to two Prime 16s. Dont forget that the BRS settings are for a deeper tank, the Nuvo 30 is only 12 inches deep, and their settings are for 18 inch tank. If you watch the video you can see the par values at 12 inches are pretty high as uv and violet are sett at 167% and blues at a 100%. Im in acclimation mode running settings at 80%,BRS has a nice chart with reduction percentages that might help. If you join the AI Facebook page there are a ton of great files to choose from, pick one and stick with it for at least a month. Also you will see that many of the settings use a very low percentage of cool white, mine maxes out at 19% intensity during my peak lighting period. Definitely make sure that you start off in acclimation mode.
