Hey guys, since my house is underway and at a current stand still, i decided to start the new tank build that is going to go in the house. It is going to be a 125 gallon. Nor sure on sump yet. Taking the seals out of the tank and going to reseal for a peice of mind. Here's some pics!

So all seems are now gone, i wiped the seams down with vinegar to clean them. Going to reseal using ge 100% silicone caulk. It has worked for me before. It will have plenty of drying time since it's going to be a few months before i move. Going to give it really good strong amd thick seems.

I wish I were brave enough to take a tank apart like that. I'd be scared that the walls would blow out when I filled it!

Tank is sealed and now to let the caulk dry. Then time to fill it with muriatic acid water mixture to clean it. Then prolly let water ciculate to try to get the silicates out of the system right off the bat

Ok guys, my plan is the herbie for the overflow. What do all of you guys think as far as pipe size? Im thinking 1.5". Do you guys think 1.25" would work?

I think we would need a bit more info. A single overflow or two? And I'm guessing you are asking because you need to know what size hole to drill?
Knowing the desired flow through you sump would help, too.

What do you guys recommend for overflow? I want a good flow through the sump
If I were starting from scratch, I would do a beananimal overflow I think. Maybe we can get a bit more experienced opinions.

I too would consider the beananimal overflow, especially since you have a blank slate you're working with. My $.02.

What's a beananimal?

lol.. It's the screen name of the guy who came up with this particular type of overflow. I know it works great and I would go that route as well, but I couldn't begin to explain how it works. I'll leave that to the others.
