My lights are pretty much full blue and I stacked an 85b and 85c together.

Those are some very nice looking pictures, well done!Got a Canon R8. These might be the best coral shots I have ever taken. 35mm F1.8 lens.

I like it this way. IMO its better to not mess with the tank lights and adjust the camera. The blues and orange filter gets the color pop.

I have a Chinese SkS, they copied the Russian’s model. I don’t shoot much with it but I think it may be one of the reasons the Chinese Army lost so many troops and battles in the past?

So far so good. I had a Canon R50 with the 50mm lens for a little while. I learned on that pretty quickly and decided I love it so much might as well upgrade with something with at least 4K 60p so I can get some crisp slow motion vids for Instagram. I never really messed with other manufacturers cameras but the Canon UI I found very easy to navigate. Beats the hell out of my iphone photos by miles! Only thing I did in these photos was a crop. No post color/contrast/brightness manipulation.
The 35mm lens is a step up as it has built in stabilization and gets a wider field of view from the 50mm I had on the R50. Or its the full frame sensor on the R8? I dont understand that stuff lol. I just play with it till it comes out nice.
What do you mean you stacked 85b and 85c together? Sorry new to photographing coral.

You may want to look into the TG series from Olympus. This was taken earlier tonight with my TG-5 I got used on Martketplace for $200 2 years ago. No additional lenses needed for macro as it has built in microscope mode. It’s water proof up to 15m without any housing, this picture was taken from inside my tank.
Your photos are great, not trying to take anything away from them. I started off with a Sony a5000 and tamron macro lenses. But with a body+ lens you are restricted to shooting either head-on through the glass, or top down through the water. Corals and critters don’t always cooperate, which is what makes the TG line from Olympus great for this hobby.
I couldn't get the green to show in this picture had I taken it from the side of my tank, and from head-on from this angle outside of the tank the coral was too far away. So, in the water the camera went. You lose a bit of stabilization you get from a tripod or even resting against the glass, but I’d say it’s worth it.

Thats a great shot! I have seen some great pictures from the Olympus tg cameras. I actually looked at the tg7 first. Just decided to go all out for a camera that could shoot 4k in at least 60p. I'm still new to these types of cameras but love it so far. I'm still tweaking and learning. Next plan will be a telephoto lens so I can get the zoomed coral shots deeper into the tank on video. Looking for recommendations on a good telephoto lens if anyone knows.
