dude that is amazing! great job. :D
Thanks! I still have a lot more to do. I’m doing the math on the XL shim I’m making for the stand to make it level. Unfortunately the floor beneath is poured concrete and the edges are almost .500 higher than the rest of the room

Ok a lot has happened over the past week
I managed to find time to make a media rack, with three tiers.
Here’s a video of it being cut

now the final product

as for what I’m putting inside the three levels I haven’t decided. Maybe some biobricks or similar media for the bottom middle will probably be chemipure and top will have filter floss.

Since I was struggling to figure out what kind of lighting I’m going to use, I think a T5 hybrid will be sweet. But I have to make a mount for it. I used .380 clear acrylic

Now with it sitting on the tank

I haven’t decided if I’m going to skin the light bracket with mirror acrylic yet..

And finally my flow nozzles have arrived!
I am super excited for these since this tank will only be powered by the return pump. These RFGs by @Vivid Creative Aquatics will be the “highlight” of this tank.

Thanks Antonio for sponsoring the flow on this tank!

this is awesome! I wish I knew how to weld the acrylic! I would be willing to buy sheets on amazon to fiddle around with it, just all the other supplies I have no clue what I would need... I can weld stainless, titanium, aluminum, Inconel...everything.... but acrylic! haha

Keep it up, and keep us drooling!

it’s the flow nozzles you provided for sure! I’m absolutely loving it

Thanks it’s a lot of practice and trying to achieve museum quality welds is infuriating at times lol

so back to the build, but first
This past week has been hectic for me there was a frag swap earlier today which I made a few of the vendors tanks and corals racks. I ended up selling a few frag rack which is tempting for me to get a booth next swap. Also I picked up some frags from some locals spent 35$ total for four frags.

so this week I have been playing around with the aquascape. the ole lady gave me the green light to purchase some new rock and sand. So I spent 60$ for some TLF STAX rock and about 20lbs of koralLagoon by brightwell aquatics. I used the substrate before in the 5g and all of the macros and mangroves loved it. It took me a couple of tries to get the aquascape i was looking for

and a front shot of the scape

pretty happy with I was working with and decided to take down the 5g mangrove tank and transfer everything and live rock into the new build
A2E2645C-3050-4AD4-B332-1B88CDEDB125.jpeg

It was a little sad taking it down but it definitely needed a face lift
9BC47B3F-220B-4F0C-9A73-5287A18452B2.jpeg

I added about 5lbs of Fiji mud to the bottom to help aid the benthic bacteria it’s about an 1.5” layer covering the bottom.
F659F2F7-1250-4C2A-AAA4-C985894EE04C.jpeg

Staring to add more sand and the remainder of the 5g mangrove tank substrate.
D003F0BB-192A-4296-BAC5-0E74EA9CF479.jpeg

let’s start adding water! I used the dirty WC water from the 120g and I was a little sad the tank only took about 17g of water.
DE30CBA5-8395-42DC-9C8F-B17DA2A46E68.jpeg

Got it filled and the return pump running at 50% I did crank it to 100% and the flow was insane this tank does not need a powerhead or wave maker. @Vivid Creative Aquatics the two nozzles are amazing! And the color of them too!
05B82EAE-6719-4400-9F44-6E504115E318.jpeg

here is a shot with the T5hybrid and the water column is starting to clear up.
11FA007C-6F32-43DF-ACDB-B42DDE2C1A32.jpeg

Another shot when the T5’s turn off.

I’ll do a video of the tank tomorrow when I finish hooking up the ATO/AWC.

But the next part of the build is to finish designing a dual ATO container

So this weeks update the macro algae is growing quite well! I was shocked to see any growth from them since in only a week into the cycle. It’s probably getting nitrates from the daily WC

when I initially put the macros in they were quite sad looking and I was afraid they were just going to melt away but I was quite wrong. I grabbed the “dragons burp” out of the fuge areamof this tank and tied a couple of pieces to some acrylic rods so I can see growth and monitor it mostly check out the huge aiptasia!

I also threw in some tester SPS

so this week I added a few more corals into this tank. I know it has only been wet and cycling since 3/7/2020 but I know the softie and the SPS will be fine since I changed the AWC to an 8hr interval so it gets a daily WC of about 5gallons.
all of the macros and montiporas are showing growth so I am hopeful. the hybrid lighting seems to be doing the trick for all of the corals that were added. ill make a list of them later.

I decided to remove one of the top rocks and I swapped it with a smaller rock that has a JB shroom on it. Also it gave room so I can try out some acros behind the gonipora 16C6D3DF-B685-4E10-8A15-C768D7E27AA5.thumb.jpeg.cf5583461b592ffcd811058f2dd9a61f.jpeg
