New custom tank - input appreciated!

Hello all!

My first post here after lurking for some time!

I’ve had a few, small to medium, freshwater tanks growing up, but this will be my first marine tank—and quite a few other firsts too! It’s my first non-rectangular tank, my first time using a sump, and I’m now living in Macau, where the local aquarium shops don’t speak English. Guess who’ll be haunting these forums a lot?

The tank I’m planning for my living room is pictured below. The local shop has offered to custom-build it for a good price, but I’d love to bounce a few things off you guys first.

1. The shop proposes using 12mm glass. However, the calculators linked here suggest 15mm glass for a safety factor of 3.8—but they’re meant for rectangular tanks. Since this is a curved design, should I insist on 15mm low-iron glass instead?
2. For the internal overflow weir, I’ll be using 1” bulkheads. Is the proposed layout and spacing sufficient to avoid compromising the structural integrity of the bottom glass panel?

Thanks in advance for your advice and input! This will be a slow project, but I’ll keep the thread updated with progress as I go.

As far as the glass, thicker is better, less chance of bowing or stress.
Is this a rimmed or rimless tank? Rimmed 15mm would be fine, rimless I'd actually see if they could do 19MM or 3/4 inch

Yes, it's planned to be rimmed. I will ask for 15mm then. Thanks!
