got a new filefish shipped, its an aiptasia eating filefish and i had just put it in 3 hours earlier and now i noticed that its laying on its side on the sand, all the other animals seem fine, is this normal

They can do that when stressed. What was the salinity it was shipped in versus that of your tank? Too much of a rise between those two numbers can be extra stressful…

Be sure no other animals pick on it while it is down.
