Got these fish from a recent arrival to LFS 3 weeks back.
1 powder blue
2 sailfin tangs
1 blond naso

Placed 1 powder blue and 1 sailfin in a qt tank separate partitions same water.
Naso and sailfin went to another QT. No communicating water or nets or other contamination.... all fish ate since day one except for Naso which didn't eat till week later.
Last week powder blue got thes skin black dots and found him dead next morning with skin sloughing. 3-4 days later sailin in same qt had the spots, did a fresh water dip and no sign of flatworms. Added cuppa min copper full dose going up over 6 days to full indicated dose. Fish died this morning with some eaten skin appearance. I saw the same on naso as well. Added prazi to clean any external.parasites and qt is already in cuppa mine power full dose. I know mixing copper abd prazi isn't indicated but I wanted to deal with it fast and as spots apprleared with full copper its clear copper isn't doing anything. Any suggestion what these are abd what to do ???
Eyes are a bit cloudy on the naso and a bit of hyperventilation.
Sorry bad pics

I see this often with tangs where flukes are involved. If flukes, some signs you will see are sudden darting, fickering of fins, loss of appetite, elevated breathing and appearance you see on their skin. It appears fish are in quarantine already and I recommend use of Prazi pro appleied as mentioned below. If fish are in Copper already. run copper at 2.25 ppm and apply Prazi at dosage mentioned as I do not like or recommend mixing meds with copper but prazi is one of the ones im okay mixing with coppersafe or copper power.
Dose at 80% of recommended and apply initial dosage known as an interval lasting for 8 days, do a water change and do one more 8 day dose interval
Use airstone with prazi as it does reduce both oxygen and appetite.

I agree, looks like flukes.

What prazi product are you using?

Thanks for the input and for the article. Never knew prazi treatment was that tricky!
I use prazi pro by aquarium solution, it's a liquid solution

As the fw seems to be the small variety and fast acting what's the best method of treatment from below:
- hypo salinity was mentioned for 1 type of fw is it active for all? Can I use it in combination with prazi?
- I have 2 other small 10 g tanks that are not in use , can I do a 5 days TTM with prazi dosing on each move? No filters will be re used so no bacteria consuming prazi
- how long to QT the fish if they make it to make sure they are disease free ?
Thanks

As mentioned, can be mixed and dose at 80% of recommended and no need to do water change to add it but do monitor ammonia levels with a reliable ammonia test kit

A specific gravity of 1.012 for 30 days works well for about 95% of the fluke infections seen in marine fish.

TTM works poorly, as some flukes lay adhesive eggs and those get moved from tank to tank.

Prazipro is trickier to use than plain prazi powder, due to the solvent. I wouldn’t combine it with hyposalinity.
