Call me controversial, but equipment prices have officially gotten out of hand. There is absolutely no reason that this thing should cost this much.

I have been in this hobby for over 15 years, and it has always been expensive. But I really feel like the prices are getting completely out of control and companies are taking advantage of our willingness to pay crazy prices for everything.

I have this one and it has improved blade system allowing you to use even and old credit card and its stronger and floats better. Pricey yes, but the effectiveness surpasses that

Precisely why the Algae Free Tiger Shark is on my Christmas list. As in, I don’t have to buy it!

Flipper:
Our algae scrapers are EXPENSIVE!

Tunze:
Hold my beer.

This one is plenty strong enough unless you’re more than 20mm thick.

And? It's still $0.30 worth of blow molded plastic and a magnet.
Its simple- Dont buy it. I have the mighty magnets also well over $300. All equipment is a matter of preference and budget

I have a regular flipper it was 40$ in 2015 and works great to this day.

Just checked Amazon, now they want 57$ for it crazy. But, I’ve got 8 years out of it and it’s still going strong

Covid drove up the price of everything and I feel some sellers/manufacturers are really taking advantage of this. Typically things become less expensive over the years as new models come out, hype dies down, more competition enters the market. But no. Not now

The exact flipper I bought in 2015 has gone up 42%

If only folks didn't keep asking for pay rises.

Expensive sure but... Tell me how many things in this hobby you really only ever have to buy once? It's not going to have a new and improved feature that you have to rush out and buy. It's not going to have a better light spread than the one we released 3 months ago. You see where this is going. Buy a replacement pad and blade once a year and that's it. They will outlast most people's time in this hobby. Just use a filter pad or whatever you prefer and don't be a Karen. For me, I'll never go without one. There are alot of things you don't need in this hobby but a way to clean my glass with ease is a must have for me.
