New From Idaho

Yep, I teach aquatic biology, biology, and horticulture at the local high school, grades 9 -12.

Great subjects! Should be setting up a green house for the girlfriend soon; will be sure to send any plant questions from her your way.

Thanks - I enjoy them. Feel free to send em my way, I'll be happy to answer what I can.

you have some really awesome rocks in that tank. the plate rock looks really good. the two rocks on the right side of your tank are really cool

Thanks! I am having a bit of an aiptasia problem at the moment. Not sure if I am going to cook this rock before moving it my new tanks or not. I love that it has been in this system for over a year and has a bunch of life on it but I am having difficulty getting rid of the aip.

Here is a pic of the new fish room I am putting together:

Carpet up and cement board down:

New tile down:

This is the girlfriends new tank. She wants to get an eel (debating between a golden dwarf and a snowflake). It is a standard 75g and will be primarily an LPS/Zoa/Mushroom tank.

On the stand:

Finally cycling rock!

Here is the new 180 (going to replace the 72g bowfront):

Bracing under the house:

I built a sump-room in the garage; the garage is adjacent to the fish room:

The sump room is 50"x30"x6'. I plan on plumbing the 75g, the 180g, a frag tank and a 30g refugium into a common sump (another standard 75g) in the garage. When I started this project a couple months ago, I had no idea how BIG a project it would become. It has been fun so far, but a ton of work!
As you can see from the pictures, i still have a looooong way to go.
