Just got a new gem tang in my tank. He is a baby. About 2.5 inches

He came into the tank yesterday. He’s been picking at algae off rock and sand, picks a bit of nori and small amount of frozen food. But seems to eat algae out of the tank a decent bit. Do I need to be concerned at all? Is he getting enough food ? He looks healthy otherwise.

i cant think

As long as he eats frozen foods you shouldn’t worry too much however once the algae is gone you’ll want to supplement nori in his diet.

Agree with “ I can’t think “ and keep in mind at 2 1/2 inches their tummies are small . Along with nori and I would also try to introduce a high quality pellet food

When to mix up fish meal: When was the last time you tried a different brand of food for your reef?
