Do you have a pic from the side? It kinda looks like it’s just fully retracted, but can’t tell from that angle.

Yep, this sadly looks like a goner.

If you can, take the coral out and sniff it. If there's a foulish/rotten smell coming from it, it's dead.

My money is on it’s a goner, you wouldn’t be seeing skeleton if it had a good chance. Contact the seller ASAP.

They have been shipped for years that way and survived so it is hard to say incorrect or wrong, just other ways are proven to be safer. Even if floating upside down, or even mounted to the top of specimen cup, a toss from the back of the plane into a shipping bin or an accidental drop along the shipping route and the same type of damage could happen.
