It all receded tightly to the middle. I guess I’ll give it a few days before I bother the seller again.

Yep, this sadly looks like a goner.

If you can, take the coral out and sniff it. If there's a foulish/rotten smell coming from it, it's dead.
 
I would move it far away from that indo like really far incase it brown jellies and spreads it
 
It was just laying in the bag. That must be the issue! I did not realized it was shipped incorrectly. Thanks for the education, I’ll let the seller know also.
They have been shipped for years that way and survived so it is hard to say incorrect or wrong, just other ways are proven to be safer. Even if floating upside down, or even mounted to the top of specimen cup, a toss from the back of the plane into a shipping bin or an accidental drop along the shipping route and the same type of damage could happen.
