A few days ago I had 2 clown fish and a damsel die, almost out of no where. The first clown started to swim horizontal and looked like he was having trouble swimming at times. Then the second started doing the same, then the damsel. But the damsel was a lot different please help if u can

Welcome to R2R!!

I can't offer much help aside from echoing what others have said since I'm new. Luckily a TON of these people know an awful lot about reefs so they should be able to help you. I wish you the very best of luck with your new tank. <3

Another tip with using chemiclean type products for cyano; make sure to get an air pump and put an air stone in the tank. Those type of meds take oxygen out of the water and sometimes make it look like they don’t work. Proper gas exchange is important.

I’m glad to see that you are switching to a sump soon. I personally do not have experience with canister filters as I am a noob, but between the horror stories of what can happen during power outages I don’t use them. My area has power outages too often for me to feel comfortable. Hoping to get a generator soon to backup my tanks, AC, and fridge. Priorities lol!
