Moved and had to retire the RSR 750 XXL and sell off all livestock. Didn’t want to, but was the best decision IMO, rather than deal with the hassle and potential complications of relocating the reef.

A RSR 525 G3 is on the way, and would like to log progress here of building it, setting up the equipment, and getting the reef thriving again.

All I’ve got done so far is the setup of the RODI system, RODI and SW storage tanks, and getting a QT established (look familiar?). Attached are the storage tanks and a pano of the reef room.

Lines for RODI, SW, and air will be fed through the wall from garage to adjacent reef room, just as in my old 750 XXL build.

525 not here yet, so continue to get the QT ready. Cleaned and rinsed with white vinegar and RODI. Leak checking now.

Also built this cover/side using two 2x2 egg crates from BRS, and a hot knife, secured with zip ties.

Plan is to get an angel and a couple tangs going in QT (2 month process), whilst building the 525.

QT is setup. Borrowing my left controller cabinet from my DT to control the pumps, lighting, temp, and probes. The 525 has yet to arrive.

Running a little carbon in the Reefmat basket to remove any possible toxins introduced by the move.

Will remove the carbon and start the quarantine process in a week, starting by gradually raising copper to 1.0.

Plan is to get the fish a week later and continue with the quarantine process.

Well despite placing my order for the 525 immediately after the Memorial Day sale was announced, the fine folks at @Bulk Reef Supply have said they never had any inventory to fulfill my order. I spoke with customer service who said they have system issues and can't accurately show stock on hand. It only took them 3 weeks to let me know, geeez! Needless to say, this project will be delayed.

It’s finally here! Just finished inspecting, and it’s all good. Many thanks to @Bulk Reef Supply for their help and understanding with the Red Sea fulfillment process, and getting the tank to me as soon as they could. Now begins the fun part!

Yes, I did this with my last tank too. Stable for 6+ years. I put 3 2x4 planks in between two shelf units just to be extra safe. Did this for both storage units (RODI and SW).

Tank installed and centered, big day! Feels good to get that out of the way. Time to move on with the instructions, the leveling step. But this enough for today. Time to take a break and celebrate!

Tank is leveled, and the rest of the cabinet completed. Installed the sump and the plumbing as well. Will be installing 2 Vectra M2’s (red pipe on the way), one dedicated M2 per return outlet.

Placed my controller cabinets on each side of the tank. Each cabinet has its own Apex and 2 EB832’s. They are designed to be redundant, each controlling its own heater, probes, returns, lights, dosers, and Vortech MP40’s.

Since the system is accessible now, and I’m in no particular hurry, taking time to place the equipment, and organize the electrical cords and doser tubing. I hate having cords messy and scrambled on the floor, so doing it correctly up front.

Had to take a couple weeks off due to a leg injury, getting back into it now.

Anyway, just installed the left and right Vectra M2’s. Just needed the 3/4” red pipe from BRS.

Finished the dosing system.

Two Reefdose 4's, one for foundation elements, one for trace elements. The Reefdose brackets are screwed to a custom cut 1/4" acrylic sheet, and the sheet itself is secured to the cabinet wall with 3 strips of extra strong 3M fasteners going the length of the sheet. Very solidly attached.

Took out the built-in ATO bracket in the corner of the sump to make room for the dosing. Don't need this anyway, since there will be an RODI line coming in from the tank in the garage, controlled by water level sensors and a DOS pump.

Luckily the corner of the ATO bracket is not sealed to the sump, just the sides. So there was no risk of disturbing the corner seal of the sump. Just went really slow with the blade to make sure I did not slip and go too far into the corner sealant.
