Hello everyone

So I recently purchased a new jbj 65.
Transferred all live stock rock on the weekend.
Last night as I was admiring it and Cleaning the glass I notice what appears to be little wholes or separation on the outside of seal..that sits in between the front and side glass.
I’m a little paranoid especially because it a big tank for me (comining from a aqueon 20g).just wondering if it’s something to not worry about or to contact jbj and see what they say.
TIA
Happy reefing!

It is definitely worth asking the question. You are in front of the tank so you have a better view than the rest of us. Does it look like a bubble in the silicone? It doesn't look like a huge concern to me, but I will say that if you can't stop thinking about it then get more information. Reach out to where you purchased it from and ask what your options are. You could also ask them if they choose not to do anything, if they are willing to cover the tank, the livestock, and any damage to the home if it fails (and suggest that they put it in writing)?

Hi!
I did reach out to the lfs I purchased the aquarium from. I told him it’s on the outside of aquarium. He in fact said that if it’s from outside it’s just extra silicone.but that it’s to hard to give me an honest answer base on picture.
He did in fact mention to contact jbj to get their opinion and to have paper trail in case of something 🥲.Mined you it’s literally 2 days that has been filled up.

I wouldn’t say bubble, it’s more of like a missing piece or the little piece cut off from the silicone.

I would pursue above...reach out to JBJ for their opinion but I wouldn't get my hopes up on any responses that ease your mind.

I'd keep water in it (no or minimal livestock) and monitor the defects for a couple weeks. If defect spreads/grows/changes shape then you have a much more serious issue and I'd reach out to JBJ on a replacement. Important you have pictures and immediate concerns documented with them now.

If the defects remain as they are then it's likely fine and will be for years. Just something you'll keep any eye on over time and probably forget about unless you're cleaning the tank.

Hi!
Just submitted an email claim with pictures of possible silicone defect.
It might be nothing but for sure will keep an eye on it since I have fit with livestock and filled up.
It’s more noticeable when lights are on
