Hello all! I’m on day 80 with the evo 13.5.

I’m wondering if the lighting on my tank isn’t sufficient. Every time I turn all blues on every coral closes up immediately.

Just a couple quick facts on said tank.

I dose twice a week with fuel by aquavitro and just started dosing with reef fusion 2 due to alk being low (129 on spin test this afternoon.)

I also do biweekly water changes at 10%

Stocked corals are

2 gonnies
2 mushroom
1 Kenyan tree
1 hammer
1 torch
2 zoas
1 GSP
1 newly added lepto

I also have 2 clowns and 1 royal gamma. Including a brittle star that hides underneath the rock.

Cleanup crew as usual

1 coral banded shrimp
2 snails
1 blue legged hermit
4 reef hermit

It is sounding overstocked the longer I type.

But is there any particular reason one can think of as to why the corals would close upon blue light only?

Thanks!

I run the same tank, the most common upgrade I see people make is an AI Prime. This requires you to swap out the hood since it will need to be elevated above the tank.
If you're a fan of the stock hood I've seen where people replace the stock light with an AI Blade. I think you have to modify the hood slightly to account for it but it should be pretty light work.

I was going the blade route until I got a good deal on a Prime so now I'm doing that.

The tank looks good! It's cool seeing how different the scapes and stocking can be for this small of a tank. I want to try gonis and Euphyllia but they make me nervous so I'm team zoa garden right now. I do have two leptos and both seem happy under the stock light, one has growth after roughly a month.
