So I want to upgrade my lights from my viparspectra I purchased years ago. I originally had a 20g aqueon long for about 1.5 then bought my cousins innovative marine 25g lagoon such I’ve had running about a year. I think I could get much better coral growth if I invest in some better lights. What would you guys recommend? Definitely don’t want to hang the lights from the ceiling, we thinking maybe 1 AI prime 16hd or Red Sea 50. Would like to stay under 300 if possible.

Maybe you could get a second hand radion? They have an arm so you can hang it off the back of your tank.

Yea, I know how popular they are just haven’t really researched what they go for used. Is there a point in usage or how old lights are that it’s best not to buy?

I've never known lights to dim over the years but you'd have to check with a PAR meter to confirm this.

I'll wait for others to comments if I am wrong.

The ai prime are nice lights I have 2 on my 25 lagoon 10" inch from water. I've seen a lot of growth in my corals from them. Before the lagoon I had a 10g lifegard tank with 1 ai prime 16hd corals grown like crazy. I have seen the ai prime 16hd on Facebook market place used for 130 to 180.

I run a Radion G7 blue with RMS mount on my IM25 using 75% intensity schedule AB+. Coral growth is very good with little shadowing.

Hey! Random question but what setting do you have the primes running at? I recently got the same tank, just looking for a good setting
