Hello, I have a new largeish longnose hawkfish who won't go after thawed mysis shrimp although it constantly picks on the glass for microfauna. Is this something that I should be concerned about? It looks healthy.

Did you see it eat at LFS? I would try other types of food, both frozen and flakes/pellets. Normally they are voracious eaters. Good luck.

Solution found: Target feed with powerheads off so that the food sinks slowly

Did that work for you?

Both long nose hawks I've kept had to be started on a feeder guppy. After that, they ate flakes and frozen

Go to the grocery and buy fresh mussels. Diced them up thinly. 99% of fish will take to fresh mussels like its filet mignon
