Just purchased a small Mag on Thursday. My LFS had it for about 2 weeks and while it is bleached has always had a tight mouth and flowing tentacles. So I observed it for 1 of those 2 weeks stopping in daily and it always had that look to it. So on Thursday after work I brought it home along with 2 clowns. After I got them home I set up a tank to match the water parameters as close as I could to the fish store. The Mag was starting to deflate its tentacles a bit so I just took the Mag out of the bucket and placed it right in the 10 gallon hospital/observation tank.
Shortly after the Mag plumped back up and was as it looked at the store. After the fish bags floated to temp acclimate I scooped them out and put them in a small bucket with clean water for a minute to kind of wash them of anything and then put them in the tank with the Mag. The next morning I woke to a happy Mag with 2 clowns playing in the flowing tentacles and then woke up again to the same which has been a relief so far.

I have everything to treat the Mag if it does start to go down hill but figured since the mouth is tight and its locked tight to a rock I would leave it in there with no treatment and observe

@JonezNReef Beautiful mag! Are you feeding it? I found with my Mag (which was as bleached as yours) that feeing regularly helped the pver recovery and zooxan. popuation to come back. As the zooxan. population comes back the feeding response lessens due to more dependancy on the zooxan. for nutrients. Just my 2-cents... Keep us posted on your progress!

I just feed my 2 clowns a few times a day and hope the Mag gets some of it. Any time I spot feed the Mag the clowns take it away. Outside of the clowns removing the food, they are very gentle and keep it spotless

Thats good to know you had success with a bleached Mag too. Makes me worry less

Also another update... my LFS called me up because they had a couple more Mags arrive in the morning and wanted me to come check one out he thought I might be interested in. And of course I was and unexpectedly came home with another new Mag.
This one isn’t as small as the first one but doesn’t look as happy. I have it in my hospital tank on a dinner plate for now so I can see if treatment is needed.

Well the 2nd Mag is not looking so good. Already began treatment with cipro in the 10g hospital tank. I will update on it at least daily or so on the progress of its treatment.
Day 1 of Treatment 250mg started Saturday at 6pm eastern time 2/5/2022.

Now at the 18 hour mark and it’s starting to discharge some stuff

Also I noticed what looked like air in the Mag which is another reason I started treatment Right away. One of the tentacles looked inflated last night and I noticed it came off over night

the detracted tentacle even reacted to light and fattened up

So I’ve been watching and inspecting the Mag all morning and I’m thinking he was hurt during shipping. Looks like 2 or 3 spots that are injured
