I've used Reef2Reef a few times as it comes up in searches for information. Wanting to like a thread today (as I research the failure of my Neptune EB832 Power Bar) I created a profile.
Fish started for me 20 years ago with Cichlids, and 4 years ago with the transfer of a 72G salt water tank from a good friend getting out of the hobby. Trials and tribulations like most, I've learned a lot and suffered some fatal mistakes.
A year after implementing the 72G I upgraded it to a 150G tank and this is my reef tank. I've also changed my 125 cichlid tank to a 125G Fish Only tank. Here I suffered my first experience with disease, an eel as a carrier to Velvet got me off to a really rough start. Now I use a 20G QT tank and am in process of adding to the fish only tank.
I use Neptune equipment on both to manage, and for whatever learn I seem to find 3-4 things I didn't know. Stumbling my way through this hobby I've learned advice is often more subjective than definitive, and listening and sharing (politely) is key, just as it is with any good conversation or hobbyist interest. My education continues, and seldom at the expense of my fish and corals (except for the velvet nightmare). I look forward to contributing here as well as learning from sound recommendations and wisdom of those willing to help a fellow hobbyist grow.
