FYI, MRC has a new skimmer coming out. It uses a bubble plate as opopsed to their usual becket foam heads.

There are 3 skimmers in the line rated for 75, 150, and 300 gallons. They use needle wheel pumps and bubbleplates to create a great foam with little turbulance all contained within a small footprint with low power consumption.

How do I know this fancy bit of info? I won one for coming up with the new name in a competition: The MRC Ocean Force!

I don't know the pricing, but my understanding is that they are going to be very affordable.

I'll post some pics when I get it in "a few weeks". I'm very excited to upgrade from my Terminator 2.

Yeah, I'm excited. I hope this technology proves for a great skimmer. I know it's not a bubble king but it should be pretty sweet.

Woot! Got the skimmer yesterday!

It's basically an ocean runner pump. So a departure from MRCs typical becket skimmers.

Here are some pics:

That is CRAZY!!! Great looking skimmer, and even better production. I have a MR-2 Beckett, and have been thinking of getting a new more efficient skimmer, 71W sounds a LOT better then the nearly 200 I am running now.

I wonder when the skimmer will be listed on their site?

I think next week. They are still tweaking the design a bit.

I need to do some tuning to get it to run a bit dryer. I like my skim a bit wet, but not that wet.
