I don't see the mounting rails available yet. Anyone find them? If I like the 2 HyperReef 200w I bought with the controller, I will probably buy 2 more and would need the rail to mount them over my 200 gallon Innovative Marine mixed Reef. For now I am going to test them on my SR 120 PRO :)
How do you like the sr120?

Got my 150 tonight and had a few minutes to mess around. Not over a tank or corals so these are very early initial thoughts and impressions…

Build quality feels very nice. Has some heft to it which surprised me.

The “optics/cover” over each LED/puck look like they should blend and diffuse the light. It’s the same texture and look as the G5 and G6 Radions but in the G4 puck shape.

The fan is loud. In a quiet room or setting, you will absolutely hear it and could be a deal breaker IMO.

The unit gets quite hot before the fan kicks on. I was quite surprised and even thought I had a defective unit. No measurements tonight but will get the thermometer out to see if I can get some readings.

The indicator lights on top are always on and they are BRIGHT! This is a big miss IMO. Definitely a deal breaker for some.

The controller is easy enough for simple tasks and you can select how long the screen stays on.

For the money, these things seem to be an absolute steal

I have a 4ft tank so I will need 2 lights, does the watts matter? I’m doing lps and Softies, maybe a few easy sps on top of rocks right under the lights . Thanks!

Watts should roughly correlate to what PAR levels you might be able to expect. Certain coral need/prefer higher PAR levels that the higher wattage lights provide.

Good feedback. While I didn't expect it, I'm not too surprised the units get hot and the fan might get loud. I haven't plugged mine in yet so we shall see if its something I can tolerate. But all my equipment is in a (ventilated) canopy. Using a small office fan to ventilate, maybe if you can keep it well ventilated the fans might not have to go full bore. Guess we will see. But having looked at other lights with the trend being higher output, I think unfortunately heavy airflow might become a thing to come to expect from this stuff...

I will say I'm already chomping at the bit to cut the stupid top plate vent slots into a larger hole to promote cooling airflow... I understand finger protection but these little slits really are probably not ideal for the throughput of the cooling fans... I'll probably make sure I like the lights before doing so but you can bet I will be doing that. Just like I did on my Apex EB832 modules.

Does anyone have the foot print for the clamp going on the tank for the mounting arms?

Cool but Quantas has its hooks into me between price looks and performance.
I'm getting both! These things have more watts-per-dollar and were too enticing. And Quantas weren't in stock... 71in Helix wont be back until January. Didn't wanna wait that long.

Actually I bought two today so that’s not true. However the tropic sun and meso are not being released until January.

This looks great to me! The differing colors in your substrate, is that actual coloring of the substrate or is it the light going all disco? The way it's spread in makes me think it is the substrate's actual coloring.

Thanks!
That is the actual substrate. I shot the picture through an orange filter so some coloration could be from that. There are no disco balls here, only a slight shimmer due to flow.

Here is a similar photo with the orange lens removed

I am super pleased with the 3 200 watt I purchased! Was worried I’d need 4. Nope! Great spread and the color pop is crisp. The only small complaint is the fans could be a little quieter, but it’s not a deal breaker. Well worth the buy! Solid par readings with my Apogee!
