I'm trying to help my sister in-law out. She got stuck with three Nikon D50s. They are brand new in the box. She is looking to get $500 each, they usually retail for $699. If you dont mind me asking, how did she get stuck with three?

No problem asking, I'm always straight forward with everyone. She found them for a really good deal while she was away on a trip, and bought 5 hoping she could sell them the four extras for enough profit to pay for hers. She has only been able to sell one, and is now getting desperate since her husband is in law school and she's a stay at home mom they have no income and a large credit card bill to pay for with these camera. So she's looking to recoupe her costs now.

Yeah... my wife and I were thinking about doing it, but couldn't find any cameras locally and didn't feel like putting forth the effort, now I'm glad we didn't.

Are they USA models? I am an avid Nikon user/collector and bought the D50 when it was first released. May I ask what she paid for them? She may want to consider lowering the price a bit if she can afford to without taking a major loss. They can be found used for between $75 and $150 with very low shutter counts. The latest and greatest of comparable new Nikon’s are still around that $600 range which could be causing the little interest in them. I Beleive they were first released in 2005 and only sold for one year. Sorry for the history lesson but just trying to help. I loved and used that camera for several years and still have it as a back up to 5 others. Hope she can off load them. They are a great camera for the prosumer. Cheers!
