New Orange linckia starfish

Hi, all.

Today I added an orange linckia starfish. When I put it in, it kinda of felt in the space that you see in the picture, and then it retreated the a few of the arms a little bit more. Since then it hasn't moved.

Any advices/ideas? Thanks in advance.

Hate to be a bummer, but I had a blue one that only lasted a month in pristine conditions. It just dumped his belly one day and died.

interesting- why do these guys die so easily? adjust don’t do well in captivity? Why?

They eat film algae and typically need a mature reef. I’ve read some spot feed them mastick. I have a blue linkia that I’ve had for 2 months and have tried to spot feed it. It’s not usually eager to take that food but eventually does.
