Its channel 3 causing it. The cyan led, as they call it. I am trying to work with them. Maybe i can swap with the full size one...
Make sure you are not confusing florescence with the led color.
Cyan is "eye bright" compared to blues and reds though.

Not a lot of cyan though..
Weird

Thats not the icon compact. icon compact has different layout. The cyan(green ones) is whats causing spot lights all throughout.
i have 3 cyan led
I will attach a photo, crappy quality sorry

Not sure but it sucks blending in the colors. I am trying to swap it for a full size icon and Orphek does not respond to my emails anymore...

I can't see the spot in the pictures, but have you taken the fixture apart and inspected the lenses? Maybe those leds got a different lense put on them. You could easily swap 2 and see if the spot follows the lenses. Just don't swap an acrylic one with a glass one....as you want those on the uv etc

I haven't messed with it yet because i was waiting on Orphek to see what they suggest.
Here are some more photos. These are with all channels at 100% as told by Orphek to get photos so they can see whats going on. Light is at 16" above water now.
You can see the rainbow on the sandbed and around the rocks. But only around those spots.

I can see it there. Maybe just turn off and inspect to ensure they have lenses on all of them

Hi, i just buy 2 orphek icon for my 48x24x24 sps tank. With your experience, what is the best distance of the water line i have to install the light ?
After that i will use my par meter to ajust the par to 350 / 400 par
Thanks

Individual channel power is determined by:
Sum of the V(f)'s x drive current.

"Global" dimming should roughly be as expected
.8 x max ect.
Fake example:
175w total 4 channel 100, 50,25
50% of 175 is 87.5
Or
50 + 25 + 12.5 = 87.5

Of course dimming just the 100 channel 50% would be
50 + 50 + 25 = 125
Dimming just the 25 channel 50% is
100 + 50 + 12.5 = 162.5

Some programs do the math for you since they should know both the driver current and string voltage.

Now that said, all wattages are not the same # of photons ( par) but that is another story.
Not all wavelengths are used equally either ( pur).

Just a refresher.
Watts are still a bit useable.
or just get your Apex reading for real wattage.

When I was researching lights for my tank Orphek suggested 18" off the water surface but that was the bars. I dont see why it'd be that different same diode and lenses. They told me in a canopy would work but id see distinct color spots in places. I finally actually saw them on a tank with a canopy same height as mine. Way to disco for this cat. Now that same tank had great coral growth and the coral looked great. The owner just finished his floating canopy 20" off the surface looks great, and hes super pumped about all the space he has now.
