The lights are in my fishroom with all my other equipment (carx, pumps, skimmer, etc). It would be a bit complicated for me to stop everything or even remove a light to test its noise level. But, bringing my hear near one of them, they seems to be very quiet.
Thanks Alain, please don’t touch anything, the colors of your tank are amazing by the way! It is a good sign if the lamp is quieter than the rest of the machinery :) Very few manufacturers actually provide noise information. Maybe @Oliver@DSunY has official figures?

the fan noise is one of the most difficult paramter to measure.

we put a new fan in a 25cm box and test the noise. we only accept the fan sample only less than 23-28 dB.
we test/check 3 pcs fan noise at each 1K

After the fan has been install on the light. the parameter is 30-50 db at 25cm and fan is full speed.
less than 35 in middle front of the light. normally it is 25-35db.
less than 50 at the middle side of the light. normally it is 30-45db.
The diffence of the each product is due to the following
1, the slight difference of the screw and screw install way.
2, the slight difference of the center of gravity.
3, the slight differecne of the aliminum shell

we know fan noise is annoying especailly when tank is in bed room. But sorry, it is really impossible to make each light same noise. sorry.... hope friends understand this ....

We also do the following to decrease the annoy.
1, there is no tiny fan noise during the night.
2, there is no-fan version of light in our product line (the disadvantage is less power. we suggest 60cm water deep tank only)

As we test the sample
Reefled 90. the noise is 42 in middle front of the light at 25cm . 44 at the side.
Ecotech 35 in front of the light. 62 at the side.

BTW, I do not think the test by phone is precise method. your hands, the position of your hands. the placement angle of the phone. the screen. the room...... but can be a reference :)

I have to say the test sample of the Reefled90 and Ecotech.
we test the fan noise at last step. I mean after the spectrum test and 24 day-night cycle run test.
When test the noise, the light is NOT NEW. the fan runs many days and maybe there are small damage on shell.
So it is unfair to compare these test parameter with RS90.

In the "normal" US channels and I believe Alibaba as well is these don't show up for sale.
Is it a special order?
I know you commonly sold them in the past.

ok guys so I am finally setting mine up today and really struggling with the bracket. one big problem is that the bracket is impossible to set up if your tank is already against the wall. you would want to set up the bracket while your tank is empty because it tightens from the rear. the other problem is that the brackets just don't attach to the tank that well and I probably will not be able to use the brackets at all. here's a couple of pictures to show how crooked the bracket is. guessing I will have to build a breaker to hang the lights off which is arrange because the tank is in a temporary spot.

i mounted the brackets directly to the wall. one lined up with the stud perfectly and the other i used toggle bolts. couldnt be more perfect.

i will charge up my nikon and post up some better pictures tonight or tomorrow.. this tank is a 50g lowboy with 40g sump. i will be putting mostly sps in it but im sure lps and softies will find their way too. this is a temporary set up until our fish room is ready. i still need to buy the eggcrate and get everything rolling in here. might be awhile before corals make it into the tank as i need to order some aquamesh and submersible lights for the refugium. i did put a pair of midnight clowns and a baby unicorn tang in. dont worry guys, unicorn tang will be going in my 300g when the fishroom is done.

yes, some friends really installed the arm on the war. you are so fast to solve this.

Infact. the base can be installed as the way :-)

yes, there is extension cords. but from your picture, I really think the controller can be hang on tank meanwhile connected to the first light.

couple of shots using the Nikon - the Nikon photos are true to color, no filter attached. I'm running rapid coral growth here. I'll post a short video too see if I can capture the skimmer. my gyre isn't here yet but I have a little wavemaker in there.

my wife loves these lights. she likes the color, the shimmer in the water and the controller. it's cool to watch the lights ramp up and down with the ability to change times, intensity etc.
