It all depends on budget. And size of system. I have had great success with a hang on back instant ocean on my 65 gallon. Cost me 12.90 cuz of a price error when I was a manager at petsmart lol. Bought all 4 of em

A little over 700 but that’s what I would look into. Maybe look for some reviews on then.

The maxspect ad600 I've been eyeing. Seems like top of the heap for feature per dollar and air intake per dollar. It's so compact and easy to disassemble. Check it some videos. I saw marine depot had them back in stock.

I'm not a fan of reef octopus and their giant skimmers. They seem over built and under designed to me. I've had 2 of them. Last one was their flag ship one of the day with a bubble blaster 5000 pump.

The maxspect ad 600 looks awesome. But...
Its new to the market l, all videos are just advertising and not honest reviews.
Anyone have experience this skimmer? No video will show how loud it is. Kinda fishy

Have to buy a skimmer tomorrow for a new 120g tank.
I was ready to by a Reef Octopus Regal 150SSS but my LFS is highly recommending a Eshopps X-160. I crossed the Bubble Magas Curve 7 Elite....any guess on which would be quieter - the Regal or the X-160?

Regal, the pump is DC. And adjustable speed. Which imo makes it easier to tune to your tanks bioload. I have the 150int elite, happy.

The X-160 has a Sicce DC pump but not adjustable. The LFS comment when I asked about adjustable speed - turn the skimmer on and adjust waterflow / airflow.

The sicce dc is good.
Speed adjustment and collection cup drain port better.
