Just received my radion xr15 pro yesterday with the RMS arm to go over my 60 gallon cube 24x24x24 tank. It replaced old hydra twenty six. I am unfamiliar with the Mobius app which really sucks by the way because sometimes it connects and sometimes it doesn’t but the light is excellent. I use reefdudes ab plus schedule. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I should put the over all intensity too? All softy tank. I’m still semi new to reefing but learning more each day. Thanks in advance!!

Youre going to need 2 lights. XR15 lights are weak par lights. I have a 65g DT and run my gen 6 lights at 100% intensity to barely get enough par for a mixed reef.

So that’s the first I heard they are weak. All I have heard is how excellent they are. Is it enough for just a softy tank? Mine won’t have any sps in it. I’m running them at 78% currently.

You would probably be ok with soft corals and maybe easy LPS but if you research threads here you will see how they are often described as weak. I did not know this either until I par checked my tank and was shocked how low my par was at 70% and corals struggling. At 100% corals thrive much better.

Dang I hope I didn’t just waste 530 dollars lol. Thank you! I’m gunna have to rent a par meter. Unless you have a suggestion on a cheap one. I been doing this for awhile but the light thing is something I never really got down the right way lol

You didnt waste your money. I agree with what was posted above. Start at 50% and let the corals tell you whether you need to go up or down, since your starting with softies. I've had mine running on 48% in my 21.7L×21.7W×21.7H cube for a little over a year and a half, with excellent results. I keep an even mix of sps LPS and a few softies. There is excellent growth and the colors of the corals are to my liking.

Looks beautiful. I have it at 78% right now. My Rock work isn’t very high because the lack of corals and no sps. I’ll keep my eye on it though. Also the hippo tang is in recovery. He won’t be in there long lol.

For your intended plans, that scape looks great to me. You have some nice pops of color in there. Love the green sinularia(?)

For your intended corals you will probably be ok but my tank is 36x22x22 so 2 lights is barely sufficient at 100% intensity.

I had to put 4 xr15 g6 over my peninsula tank. I run a modified ab+ schedule at 100%. I have a par meter and get really good readings after adding the 4th. I ran 3 for a while but it wasn’t enough. The 4th light was the key.

People say they are not as “powerful” as xr 15’s in the past. This is not true, the g6 series have a much wider lens and blends spectrum and color better than they ever have.

But that's the key, running multiple lights with overlapping spread otherwise these XR15 lights no matter what generation are weak. I've had gen 5 and gen 6. They are ok on smaller shallow tanks but once you go larger tanks you need to run a bunch like 4 as you indicated. The XR30s are just more powerful all around.
