Hi,
I am new to reef keeping and just bought a new frag of 5 rasta zoas at my local fish store. When I finally put them in my tank I realized that there was a white layer of something at the bottom of the zoas where it is attached to the frag. Does anyone know what this could be?

Eventually, the zoas should grow over it.

Nope doesn't go away but zoas will grow over it.Keep in mind Rastas are finicky, find a place where they open and seem happy and leave them alone.goes for any zoas really, forcing them to do something they don't want to(like grow) just causes stress(and bacterial infections) then the melting begins.
