Ai returned some answers that setting my light to a higher 60% white and like %40 blues in my 14 inch nano tank could have negative consequences for my corals. I have some zoas that seem to be stretching and turning transparent. So I’ve been slowly raising the white light but it hasn’t helped and now I have a ton of hair algae and stuff growing on the walls and sand bed. I’ve attach ai’s suggestion, are experienced people in agreement with what ai is stating?

Corals need blue lights primarily to thrive. Some folks cut the whites completely and leave only blue's on. This article helps explain how the different colors affect coral growth, and proves that blue is the most important. Blue lights cut deeper into the water, the deepest corals live off blue light only. White is not a real color, but a mix of all colors, and white light does seem to promote algae growth. White does not penetrate the water far and is the first color to drop off as it goes deeper

PS - my AI Prime on my 15 gallon tank, 12" depth, is set at 85% blues (meaning blue violet, royal blue) my uv is 65% my whites at 20%, and my red and green at 10%. My tank is mainly zoa's and mushrooms. Set your light close to my settings and you will have good growth. Alternatively, go to ai prime website, and you can download some pre-set programs created by lighting experts.
