I was sure that these reefer's came with the pump piping? I can get it up and running until tomorrow evening now.

I was concerned with a leak on the return plumbing. I'm hoping that it is all sorted now.

Water is starting to clear, albeit rather slowly.

I spent a good couple of hours trying to stop the downpipe from gurgling (my partner doesn't like the tank anyway, the noise was pushing her over the edge). Once I figured out how to adjust the flow I managed to get it near on silent.

Skimmer has finally bedded in and is producing some thick gunge.
Doser is in place but I haven't set it up yet, I am still a little unsure on how to set up my first dose (more reading ahead).
Chaeto seems to be doing really well, it seems thicker, which must be a good sign. I don't have it tumbling, although I have turned by hand a couple of times. I would prefer to find a better clip for the light.

Were you able to sort out the plumbing issues?

I don't think you need to dose anything at this point. Is the tank stocked with anything yet?

Not updated for a while. Plumbing is all sorted now. Added a UV sterelizer recently.

Looks great. Love the sand and Rock scape. What kind of sand did you use

Thanks. I started off with a white sand from Red Sea. But no matter where I put the powerheads I would have the sand blow about all over my corals, leaving the glass showing. So I added a thin layer of white crushed coral and mixed with the sand. It seems to have done the trick.

Never been a fan of lids, but getting frustrated with not being able to buy my favourite wrasse I went for this diy mesh lid
